Traveling Safely With Your Best Friend

If you have a dog that hates to ride in the car (he just doesn’t know what he’s missing out on!) we can help you!  Curing car and sea sickness isn’t hard, but it does take time and practice.

Need to teach your dog boating or RV specific things?  We have decades of boating, camping and RV experience.

Do your dogs love to boat? Do they love to travel everywhere, go in your motor home, camp, ride your bike and hike with you?

Some dogs love the thrill of adventure, yet others would rather just stay at home.

    Safety is Important!

So here’s a few Pointers…

Please “Click It” for your dogs with a Seat Belt Harness, crate them (please go the extra step of securing the crate or this doesn’t work) or otherwise SECURE them in your vehicle. Most people find out too late that what they thought was “alright” wasn’t safe for their Friend or their other passengers.

Leave your dog at home on Hot Days!! Cracking a few windows does not allow for enough air or cooling for your pets.

Always have your dog wear his collar and ID tags.  Get him micro chipped, and have a spare leash in your car.  If you don’t need it, someone else just might!

Travel with lots of water from home or buy battled water, even on short trips. Keep a bowl in the car for him.  Have vet records on hand, especially when traveling out of your area, and pack food, treats and any medications, including a First Aid Kit for Fido when going on vacation.

Keep those heads in!

This is not a safe way for Rover to travel!

Even the best swimmers can drown due to exhaustion or injury.  Doggy Life Jackets when worn by your dog will help your dog stay afloat longer and give you a chance to get him back aboard or to dry land safely.   We recommend you get Fido used to wearing and swimming in his jacket and check it for proper fit each time.

Beware leashes that catch cleats and hang dogs!
